Skip to contentDistribution matters more than any individual anchor. Here is what a natural profile looks like.
Branded anchors dominate in organic profiles, typically 40 to 60 percent. Naked URLs and generic phrases make up much of the rest. Exact-match commercial anchors are a small minority, usually under 10 percent.
Profiles that invert this ratio look manufactured because they are.
Lead with branded and naked URL anchors early. Introduce partial-match anchors gradually. Use exact-match sparingly and only on genuinely relevant placements. Vary phrasing rather than repeating one string.
Export your anchor distribution. If a single exact-match phrase exceeds 15 percent of your profile, that is a risk signal. Dilute with branded links rather than removing existing ones.
